Current State

• Biospec project started running with the first coordination meeting in January 19-20th, 2009 at the Human and Social Sciences Centre (Spanish National Research Council, CCHS-CSIC) in Madrid. The project participants from the University of Alcala, CEAM, INIA, University of Zaragoza and CCHS-CSIC attended

• Field work is being done since March 2009 in the Majadas study area. There have been three field trips per month, taking into account the field work protocols defined by the project members. This field work includes the collection of spectral measurements as well as sampling of vegetation (trees and grassland). In Sueca study area the field measurements (spectral and vegetation) have been taken monthly during summer from July to September in order to follow the main growing phases of the rice crop

• Satellite images acquisition and pre-processing is currently being doing at the CCHS-CSIC (MODIS) and  at  University of Zaragoza (Landsat)

• Terrestrial Laser scanning measurements were carried out in October 10th in the Majadas study area. The obtained results are being processed at the University of Zaragoza

• Biospec second coordination meeting has taken place last October 30th, 2009 at the Human and Social Sciences Centre (Spanish National Research Council, CCHS-CSIC) in Madrid
• Field work campaing of the year 2010 has started last March in the Majadas study area

• Biospec third coordination meeting has taken place on April 22nd-23rd, 2010, at the INIA in Madrid
• On May 18th 2010 an Hyperspectral flight flew over the study area in Majadas. The flight was operated by the INTA and images with AHS and CASI sensors were collected. Processing of this images is being carried out.
• Sueca field work campaing for 2010 has finished.
• Landsat and MODIS images from 2010 are being processed.
• Biospec fourth coordination meeting has taken place on November, 2010, at the University of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid.
• On January 2011 BIOSPEC inernational some international and realated researchers came to Madrid for the BIOSPEC International Colaborators meeting.  Susan Austin (UC Davis) and Pablo Zarco (IAS-CSIC) assited to this meeting.
  
• On May 5th 2011 the second Hyperspectral flight flew over the study area in Majadas. The flight was operated by the INTA and images with AHS and CASI sensors were collected. Processing of this images is being carried out.

• BIOSPEC last field work campaing was done the 1st June 2011
• Biospec fifth coordination meeting has taken place on July, 2010, at the  CEAM in Valencia.
• On the 24th November 2011 UNISPEC was installed at the flux tower in Las Majadas del Tietar.
